Why we will not ship an AI coach
Meera Raghavan, Head Coach, product
There is a version of this product that writes the session plan, tells the player to rest, and sends the parent a progress report without anyone reading it first. It would demo beautifully. We are not building it.
The reason is accountability
When a 15 year old is told to reduce their serving volume, someone has to be answerable for that call. A physio who has assessed the shoulder can be. A model that pattern matched on a wellness score cannot.
So the software does the part software is good at. It captures honest data cheaply, computes figures you can reproduce by hand, and puts the right evidence in front of the right practitioner at the right moment. Then it records what they decided and why.
Where the assistance actually helps
The boring parts. Turning a voice note into session notes. Drafting a monthly report the coach then edits. Translating that report for a parent who reads Marathi. Summarising three weeks of journals so nobody has to scroll. Every one of those saves real time and none of them makes a decision.
You can switch all of it off and the product still works. That is a test case for us, not a fallback.
